Women’s Circle is a community-rooted, soul-centred gathering space born under the umbrella of De Insomniis Theatre. It is not a performance, it is a return, a ritual, a reclamation.
We bring women together — across cultures, generations, and languages: to connect, to listen, and to remember that we are not alone. In an often isolating world, especially for migrant and marginalised women, the Circle becomes a space where we can be witnessed without judgment and celebrate without fear.
Here, we do not fix: we hold.
We do not teach: we share.
We do not compete: we become sisters.
What happens in a Women’s Circle?
-
Story-sharing and oral memory
-
Gentle embodiment practices and breathwork
-
Collective writing and ritual-based creativity
-
Silence, song, laughter, and sometimes tears
-
Tea, warmth, and unhurried time
Why we gather:
-
To reweave broken ties between women and their heritage
-
To create a healing space for immigrant women navigating identity
-
To challenge patriarchal and colonial narratives through sisterhood
-
To foster belonging without assimilation, and expression without fear
Women’s Circle is open to all who identify as women, especially immigrant, displaced, and diasporic women living in London. No theatre experience is needed — just an open heart and a willingness to be part of something ancient and alive.
